Covid-19 protocols
Our dedication to running a safe event.
Due to the concerns over the Covid-19 virus and sizes of gatherings, the following proposal is how we are dealing with holding a cycling event.
Firstly, we will follow all recommended rules set forth by the CDC in terms of social gatherings and events. We will also follow all local, State, and National laws concerning social distancing and events.
There will be hand sanitizer stations located at the start/finish area as well as each rest area. The food and drink at the rest areas will all be handled by a volunteer who will be wearing gloves. The volunteers will hand food to the participant (no direct hand contact) versus having the participant grabbing food out of the box. Drinks will be filled by the volunteer and handed to the participant (resulting in no hand contact or contamination).
At the finish line for the food area, we will have a dedicated entrance and a separate dedicated exit. To enter the food area, participants must go through a mandatory hand wash station. Volunteers, who are wearing gloves, will then serve food to the participants. The participants will then exit the food serving area. Any participant who wants a second helping of food must go through the hand wash station a second time.
There is ample space to ensure there is no large gathering of people in close quarters. We will print signs to remind people to practice social distancing. The portable toilets in the start/finish area will be sprayed down with rubbing alcohol every 15 minutes. A large spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol will be left in each portable toilet.
