The Southeast Gravel vest/jacket is a waterproof and windproof. The arms are removeable with a zipper to convert between a vest and a jacket depending on temperatures. One large pocket in the back is good for storing spare tubes or snacks. Mesh panels on the side help to vent sweat to keep your jersey dry underneath.
The main advantage of the vest/jacket is the reflectivity. When the weather is cool or cold the sun also sets much earlier, and there's an increased chance of riding when it's getting dark.
